Family and Youth Voices are Valued in NH
NH Family Voices works to strengthen the systems that serve families of children with chronic conditions and disabilities in our state. We do this through modalities such as building family-professional teams, facilitating focus groups to inform needs assessments and strategic planning, and consulting with organizations and groups to better understand the people they serve to inform service and program development.
We list opportunities for families and youth to get involved at whatever level they are comfortable with. So, if this is the first time you have done something like this, we are here to support you. Give us a call to find out more about these opportunities or to get support from a mentor. Check back often to see what new opportunities come about.
NH’s Birth Through Eight (B-8) Family-Community Advisory Council
The Birth-Eight Family and Community Advisory Team (B-8) is a part of the NH Early Childhood Governance System and functions as a formal feedback mechanism for the Council for Thriving Children and other early childhood stakeholders. It gives family and community members an opportunity to deliver their insights about what New Hampshire families and children need to thrive. Members of this team are parents and caregivers of children under the age of eight years old, early childhood providers, and agencies representing diverse experiences, perspectives, backgrounds, cultures, and landscapes across NH.
Youth Involvement & YEAH Council
Youth For Education, Advocacy, and Healthcare (YEAH) Council is a youth-driven and directed group of individuals with disabilities and/or special health care needs from around New Hampshire. We are focused on developing and strengthening the skills and resources needed to achieve the unique independent life that we each desire. YEAH does this by empowering, educating, and supporting individuals and professionals in the areas of education, advocacy, and health care.
The YEAH Council is supported by The Parent Information Center and NH Family Voices and meets monthly. For more information, e-mail yeahcouncil@nhfv.org

Learn about Family Voice and why it matters
Family Voice is is an opportunity for families to inform the programs and services that serve them and build strong relationships with the educators and providers in their lives so they can reach their goals for themselves and the people they love.
Finding our voice is a journey; like most experiences that shape us, it can be messy and imperfect. The key is never giving up. When families and professionals commit to listening and learning with each other, making space and time for reflection and growth, and continuing to come back to the table to create solutions together, we all thrive.
Our Family Voice resources are designed to inspire families to consider the importance of their voices in education, healthcare, and other family-serving systems.
