It’s Ability Pediatric Therapy Center

It’s Ability located in Concord, NH provides Hippotherapy – A physical therapy intervention that utilizes the unique movement patterns of a horse. The goal of treatment is to improve a child’s postural strength, neurological function and sensory processing, all of which can be generalized into performance of activities of daily living.

First Light Farm

First Light Farm is located in the heart of Cornish, New Hampshire, which is right across the Connecticut River from Vermont. They have clients and students from both New Hampshire and Vermont. The human and animal staff at First Light Farm provide counseling, education, wellness groups, animal assisted therapy and therapeutic horsemanship for the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. They also teach mental health and education professionals about providing animal assisted therapy and education through workshops, internships  and direct instruction.

The Carriage Barn Equine Asssited Therapy Program

The Carriage Barn is located in Kingston, NH and has specially trained instructors, certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH, formerly NARHA), provide therapeutic riding and carriage driving. The Carriage Barn programs use a team approach to help each participant maximize the benefits of the equine relationship. Participant, horse, instructor / therapist, and volunteers are part of this team.

UNH Therapeutic Horseback Riding

The UNH Therapeutic Riding Program adapts equine activities to allow for participation of riders over the age of 5 with cognitive, physical and emotional challenges. Activities take place in a normal equine environment, augmented with therapeutic games and activities. Adaptations are diagnosis-specific and focus on maximizing the abilities of each individual, rather than concentrating on disabilities.

Dream on Curls Riding Center

Located in Springfield, VT., Dream on Curls is a therapeutic riding center that provides equine assisted activities to address  physical, emotional, social, and cognitive challenges  of special needs children and young adults. Staff and horses work together in case-specific lessons offering the opportunity to experience  achievement, joy,and community.

Field of Dreams Therapeutic Riding Program

Located in Chichester, NH, Field of Dreams promotes therapeutic riding to assist riders to gain improved motor skills, balance, coordination, social, behavioral and emotional well being. Desired outcomes include increasing range of motion, improving posture, balance and strength. Additionally, cognitive, emotional and social outcomes are measured over the time of the lessons.

Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center

Located in Hopkinton, NH this therapeutic riding with certified instructors and therapists provide safe and effective treatment for people living with disabilities. They take children as young as 2 straight through adulthood.
