NHAEM is a unit of the Division of Learner Support, Bureau of Student Support. Its mission is to procure, maintain, and distribute books, educational tools, and materials for students who are blind or visually impaired and require alternate formats to access print materials.

The Talking Books Program meets the reading needs and interests of New Hampshire residents who cannot see, handle, or process printed material comfortably. Eligibility includes anyone whose low vision, blindness, or disability makes reading regular printed material difficult. The program lends a wide variety of materials. Applications are available online. The services are free.
