This mini-conference will increase participants' knowledge of the Supported Decision-Making (SDM) model, goals to incorporate in the IEP Transition Plan, and how SDM can help remove barriers to the successful employment of people with disabilities.
Participants will:
- Define Supported Decision Making (SDM) and its applications in everyday life.
- Describe the youth and parent roles in self-advocacy, including student-led IEPs.
- Understand "why" youth voice is essential in making decisions and support a person with a disability in communicating their own choices.
