Free 2020 Disability Legislative Leadership Training

February 24, 2020

Legislative Office Building

33 North State Street- Rooms 206-208

Concord, NH 03301

This leadership training is for individuals with disabilities, their parents/family members and professionals working in the community to support individuals with disabilities. The training provides information on legislative leadership relating to disability issues.

Professionals in the field, parents, and individuals with disabilities join together to not only provide information but to share strategies for collaboration and implementation as well. The session will include legislative discussions, audience participation, and small or large group activities. The goal of the training is to support the development of self-advocacy and leadership skills in New Hampshire citizens who wish to affect change at a personal, community, and statewide level through public policy and/or legislation for individuals with disabilities in their communities.

There is no cost to participants. We are particularly eager that members of the group represent diverse backgrounds, ages, and different geographic regions of the state.

Lunch will be provided at the statehouse cafeteria along with a tour of the statehouse. For more information please contact Ellen Edgerly at the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire at (603) 834-9570 / Ellenedge@bianh.org or Heather Young at Community Support Network, Inc.
