About: New England Town Hall on Adult Services is our regional version of a national Autism Speaks initiative to facilitate conversations about housing, employment, and day supports. This event is open to self-advocates, parents, advocates, and professionals from CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, VT who are interested in learning more about what options exist for adult services across New England as well as how to prepare for transition from school-based supports to adult services.
Format: Pre-event networking/exhibitor time with snacks, and then a speaking program with panelists from across New England.
Major Goal: For participants to leave the Town Hall with an understanding of the variety of models of service, a checklist and timeline for transition preparation, and a sense of the wider autism community and what is being done in other states, as well as materials/resources to investigate further.
