Let’s Go to a Party! Preparing Your Child with Autism for Social Situations

This children’s book can be used to create a discussion about appropriate behaviors in situations that may produce anxiety for children with autism, as well as for their parents. It is about a young boy named Johnny who has autism. He and his family are going to his Auntie Dawn’s birthday party. To prepare Johnny for the party, his mom discusses what Johnny can say to his Auntie, and the importance of exhibiting proper “party behavior”.
