This short film was written by Dennis Debbaudt and Jerry Newport, an adult with Asperger syndrome who has been driving for 45 years. He and his wife, Mary, have written many books, including Mozart and the Whale: An Aspergers Love Story. This film will discuss many of the important factors that should be considered when a person with an autism spectrum disorder is considering whether or not to drive, including: focus, judgment, flexibility, patience, planning, interactions with police, etc.
