The Sonatina Center, located in Dover, NH provides services for children and adults. They primarily provide music therapy and art therapy at their center, but also travel to schools, hospitals, and community organizations around NH. Their programs are designed for children and adults with these types of conditions: Autism, Developmental & Intellectual Disabilities, Anxiety & Depression, Substance Abuse, Pregnancy, Birth, & Postpartum, Alzheimer’s, Dementia & Parkinson’s, Traumatic & Acquired Brain Injury.
Bereavement Support: Heart Beats is a weekly music therapy bereavement group at the Sonatina Center. Heart Beats is a safe space for group members to process, express, and support one another in their grief through forms such as group music making, lyric discussion, song writing and improvisation.Heart Beats is an on-going group at The Sonatina Center. Group members are encouraged to begin and end their time with the group at their own pace and attendance is drop in style. Each session costs $18 and scholarships are available for qualifying applicants through the generosity of the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Foundation and Community Partners. First time participants please arrive 15 minutes early for registration paperwork.
