The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, released a new resource titled “Pediatric Preparedness Resource Kit, Inspired by the H1N1 Pandemic: Strengthening Pediatric and Public Health Partnerships.” The purpose of the kit is to promote collaborative discussions and decision-making among pediatric and public health leaders about pediatric preparedness planning. While inspired by the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, most strategies are applicable to all-hazards disaster planning.
