As part of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM), the topic will be “Uncomfortable Conversations” and how to have those conversations with the people who most need to hear them.
The topic this time will be Uncomfortable Conversations. Our guest speaker will be Erin Prangley from NACDD. She will give a presentation on the need for uncomfortable conversations around disability, how to start those conversations, and how to communicate effectively.
Discussion Questions:
What Uncomfortable Conversations do the people around you need to hear? What barriers have you faced around starting conversations? Have you gained anything after communicating about a difficult subject?
