One Family's Story with SED/SMI
May 1st, 1:30 p.m. ET (Virtual)
"NFSTAC goes back to basics during May's Mental Health Month when we'll learn what Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and Serious Mental Illness (SMI) mean. Join us for a lively discussion with a parent and subject matter expert who will share the story of her child’s journey from childhood to adulthood. She'll share the lessons she and her son learned as they navigated the world of SED and SMI through the lifespan.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Attendees understand the impact of Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) for a child, and Serious Mental Illness (SMI) for a child over 18.
Attendees will learn about the complexity of parenting a child SED or SMI.
Attendees will understand the unique challenges of SED/SMI facing families and caregivers as well as how to access support that strengthens the entire family."
