All children are at risk for lead poisoning. As we work to increase lead testing for children under 6 years of age in the Greater Nashua Region, the Leading Education and Awareness on Lead (L.E.A.D.) in Greater Nashua initiative is hosting a FREE half-day interactive virtual conference on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 8 am to 12 pm.
Children in the Greater Nashua Region may be at higher risk for lead poisoning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, as over 50% of homes in our region were built before 1978, the year that lead paint was banned. Join us as we work to educate and engage our community on the impact of childhood lead poisoning, the importance of childhood blood lead testing, and the next steps we can take to keep our children safe and healthy.
Following this conference, participants will be able to:
• Provide an overview of childhood lead poisoning and how it impacts children in our community;
• Highlight current initiatives related to childhood lead poisoning prevention in the Greater Nashua Region; and
• Share lead poisoning prevention educational opportunities with partners and community members.
We hope this conference will empower the Greater Nashua Region to increase engagement in initiatives and collaborations aimed at preventing childhood lead poisoning in our community!
Who should attend? Health Care Providers, Child Care Professionals, Teachers, Special Education Professionals, School Nurses, Realtors, Landlords, Social Service Providers, Caregivers, Community Members, and all those interested in or impacted by childhood lead poisoning.
