2021 Children’s Mental Health Conference

October 8, 2021

Our 2021 Children's Mental Health Conference -- on Friday, October 8th -- is virtual again this year, and we're teaming up with the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Initiative to End Corporal Punishment (NIECP), the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), and the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint (AASR) to focus entirely on two bills that are pending in the US Congress: the Keeping All Students Safe Act (KASSA) -- which is focused on severely limiting the use of restraint and seclusion in schools -- and the Protecting Our Students in Schools Act, which is focused on eradicating corporal punishment. Join us to learn more about these bills, to hear the research on the harm caused by restraint, seclusion, and corporal punishment, to learn how to advocate for their passage, and to hear from two of the proponents of the bills, Senator Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut) and Rep. A. Donald McEachin (D-Virginia). And this year's conference is free of charge. Register for this FREE event here: https://www.eventbrite.com/.../2021-lives-in-the-balance.
