Resource Specialist

Job Summary

The Resource Specialist provides information and support to individuals contacting New Hampshire Family Voices Family to Family Health Information Center; as well as assists in the identification, development and management of resource materials.  This is a part time position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists families and professionals working with families of Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)/disabilities in their navigation of systems.
  • Provides technical assistance regarding health care financing options in NH.
  • Works with callers to identify needed resource and make appropriate referrals.
  • Provides family to family support, and makes referrals to additional support and educational opportunities.
  • Manages large lending library used by families and professionals; oversees procurement, holdings maintenance, and loan completion.
  • Conducts follow up to assess family satisfaction with referrals and agency sensitivity to needs.
  • Completes required data collection.
  • Inventories and orders office supplies.
  • Conducts mailing on behalf of NHFV, as needed.
  • Represents the collective family experience; provides information regarding needs and strengths of families, as well as successes and challenges in the service delivery system, in meetings with state and local service organizations, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

All NHFV staff are expected to possess the following:

  • Knowledge of Federal, State & Regional resources utilized by families of CSHCN
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good oral and written communication skills; able to answer phone in businesslike manner. 
  • Positive coping skills, a sense of humor and a willingness to acknowledge limitations.

  • Sensitive and non-judgmental regarding cultural diversity, individual family differences, preferences and lifestyles.
  • Organized, self-directed, motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Qualifications & Pay Range

Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Flexibility in work hours with the ability to travel throughout NH for day and evening trainings. Individuals with lived experience encouraged to apply.                $18 – $20/hr.
