Time for Transition  How Transition Assessments are  Used  to Plan for Life After High School” – Many families, and many special educators, are not aware of the differences between Transition Assessment and other special education evaluations. Transition assessments must be used to create goals for life after-high-school in the IEP. They assess strengths, interest, preferences and needs and should happen on an ongoing basis.

“Time for Transition What is Student Led IEP and Where Do We Start”  – All young people need to learn how to take charge of their own lives as they approach the end of high school. For students with disabilities, IEP meetings can be a great place to practice this skill. By helping to create and implement their IEPs, students become take greater ownership over their learning and are then more likely to achieve their educational goals.Transition Consultant Heidi Wyman to talk more about how students can participate more fully in setting their own goals for life after high school.
