CHaD Audiology Family Day
August 4, 2018 –
Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD)
Date and Time
Saturday, August 4, 2018
9:45 am to 2:45 pm
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Auditoria A-D
1 Medical Center Drive
This free event is for pediatric Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients of the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and their families. We hope to increase understanding of the special education process and capacity for advocacy, to facilitate opportunities for families to learn more about regional resources, and offer families the opportunity to socialize and develop a network of support. During this fun-filled and educational event for the whole family, activities for all ages will be offered:
-Daycare will be provided for children ages 6 weeks-5 years through the DHMC Child Care Center.
-Children ages 5-12 will have the opportunity to connect with Deaf and Hard of Hearing peers while participating in a day camp experience hosted by Lebanon Recreation & Parks.
-Teens are invited to participate in guided peer learning and creative arts activities. A workshop on self-advocacy/transition will be available for teens and their parents.
-Parents will attend informational workshops related to educational considerations for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
